And the winner is...
The 4th Annual Seneca Star Search kicked-off the Tiffin-Seneca United Way 2009-2010 campaign at 7:30 PM September 26 at the Ritz Theatre. Over 200 were in attendance.
Keith Hodkinson was the master of ceremonies. The judges for the evening were Miriam Funkhouser, Ruth Lape, Jackie Therriault and Chris Tucci.
Executive Director Pat DeMonte and 2009-2010 campaign chair Judy Clem spoke of United Way's service to the community and assisted with ceremonies.
First place winner was Jazmine Shaw a sophomore from Heidelberg University. She took home a trophy and a $1000 U.S. Savings Bond donated by Old Fort Banking Company. Her excellent vocal rendition of "Last Dance" wowed the audience and judges.
Second place was won by a 4-person rock band named Audiotroph comprised of Codee Adams, Cory Kontak, Joe Ranker and Ryan Tran, Hopewell-Loudon High School students. Ryan Tran, a previous Seneca Star Search winner showed his versatility in the music field by playing piano, guiter and singing lead. Audiotroph took home a trophy and $250 donated by Laminate Technologies.
Third place went to Nikki Kimmet a pianist from New Riegel High School who won a trophy and $100 donated by Baumann Auto Group of Tiffin.
The Peoples' Choice Award, determined by audience votes generated by the purchase of a $1 donation ballot, was 11-year-old Hoepwell-Loudon student Emily Maksemetz. The voting brought in $331 for United Way.

- Heather Goble - singer accompanied by Ben King
- Laura Phelps - singer
Last year's winner singer Danielle Glasson with backup vocals by Shanice Alexander and Trachelle Parker entertained the audience while the judges deliberated. Also performing were local attorney Martin Koop and songwriter Ethan Freckleton also entertained.
Results of the 50 / 50 raffle to benefit Tiffin Chamber of Commerce and the Tiffin-Seneca United Way will be announced at a later time.
