United Way Campaign Warms Up The Cold January Weather! As of Janury 21 we have raised $438,126.87 or 96% of our goal for 2009-2010.
We are still zooming past last year's progress which was at 83%.
"The real thermometers are headed down with our January cold snap but the Tiffin-Seneca United Way thermometer gauging this year's campaign is shooting for the top. We are so near and I am so excited of the possibility of exceeding this year's goal by the March 31 ending date," said Executive Director Pat DeMonte.
Distribution of funds are scheduled for April and the annual meeting is in May.
Fundraising efforts will continue in the new year.
The 50/50 drawing held in mid-December benefiting United Way and the Tiffin Area Chamber of Commerce yielded $437 with United Way receiving $218.50.
A really nice time was experienced at the December 13th Light The Lanes special event. Several hundred cars drove through the lighted and decorated neighborhoods of Spring, Harvest, Autumn and Sunny Lanes. Forty-one homes were represented. Those driving through were asked to donate a dollar or more to be able to vote for the best decorated home. The residents donated the proceeds to United Way totaling $527.63!
The Annual CornToss Championship is scheduled for the first part of 2010.
